Meet Design
Design: an italian story

Meet Design is a great Gruppo RCS - Rizzoli Corriere della Sera initiative - dedicated to Italian design, a worldwide representative of creativity and innovation.

The first stage of this great event took place in Rome from 09/16/2011 to 10/13/2011. It was hosted by Mercati di Traiano - Museo dei Fori Imperiali, an archaeological complex which is one-of-a-kind in the world. The "Mercati" are a district that has lived the evolution of the city from the imperial age to the present day, constantly being renewed and reused.

The relationship of the show floors and the dialogue with the noble surrounding area is enhanced by the exhibition curated by Stefano Boeri Architetti, emphasizing the chronological evolution and the typologies of the 300 design items shown. Lighting design is by Reggiani Illuminazione.

“The exhibition, taking advantage of reflections and light, pieces together a river of items that goes through the spaces of "Mercati Traianei" enshrouding the visitors in a stream made of colours, materials, and shapes narrating the past, describing the present, and relaunching the future of Italian design". Commented Michele Brunello and Davor Popovic of Stefano Boeri Architetti studio.
